Intellectual Property and Copyright

The MicroBio Hub brand, content, e-book, databases and calculation tools on this site are original works of authorship, protected under Brazilian Law 9.610/1998 (copyright), Law 9.609/1998 (computer programs) and Law 9.279/1996 (industrial property).

This English text is a courtesy translation provided for convenience. The Portuguese version is the legally binding one under Brazilian law (LGPD/CDC), and all ownership rights described here belong exclusively to Pablo Daniel Monteiro Soares.

1. Ownership

  • ·All MicroBio Hub content is the exclusive property of Pablo Daniel Monteiro Soares, author and creator of the project. © 2026–1970. All rights reserved.
  • ·Ownership covers the editorial concept, the writing of the texts, the technical curation, the organisation of the databases, the design of the tools and the site's visual identity.
  • ·Copyright protection does not depend on registration: it arises upon creation of the work, under art. 18 of Law 9.610/1998. Registration is only evidence of precedence.

2. The MicroBio Hub brand

  • ·The name MicroBio Hub, the logo, the visual identity and the domain microbiohub.com identify the service and are used exclusively by its owner.
  • ·It is prohibited to use the name or any similar sign that may cause confusion, undue association, or exploit the project's reputation, under Law 9.279/1996 (arts. 189 and 195) and art. 209 regarding unfair competition.
  • ·Using the name in reviews, academic citations and recommendations is permitted, provided the brand is not altered and no non-existent partnership, sponsorship or endorsement is suggested.

3. Protected works

  • ·Texts, articles, routine tips and the microorganism catalogue: literary and scientific works protected under art. 7 of Law 9.610/1998.
  • ·The e-book and complementary materials (study cards, SOPs, technical sheets and spreadsheets): standalone works, protected and licensed for the buyer's personal use only.
  • ·Calculators, the BrCAST interpreter, the Rugai-with-lysine calculator and other tools: the source code is a computer program protected under Law 9.609/1998, and the selection, organisation and presentation of the data constitute a protected database under art. 7, XIII, of Law 9.610/1998.
  • ·Images, illustrations, covers and graphic elements created for the project.

4. Third-party technical data

  • ·BrCAST-EUCAST breakpoints, manufacturer package inserts and cited technical standards belong to their respective owners and appear here as technical reference, with the source and current version indicated.
  • ·What is protected as original work is the way these data are selected, organised, interpreted and presented on the site — not the raw data itself.

5. What is permitted

  • ·Consulting the site, using the calculators in routine work, and printing pages for personal or internal use at your workplace.
  • ·Quoting short excerpts in papers, classes and publications, with credit to “MicroBio Hub — Pablo Daniel Monteiro Soares” and a link to the source page, under art. 46, III, of Law 9.610/1998.
  • ·Freely sharing the link to the pages.

6. What is prohibited without written authorisation

  • ·Reproducing, republishing, translating or adapting texts, in whole or in part, on websites, social media, course packs, courses or printed materials.
  • ·Reselling, distributing, sharing in groups, or making the e-book and complementary materials available for download.
  • ·Copying, decompiling, reverse-engineering, extracting the databases, or reimplementing the calculators and the interpreter in another product.
  • ·Automated scraping to reconstruct the catalogue, train models, or feed third-party services.
  • ·Using the brand, layout or visual identity in third-party products, courses or services.

7. Licensing and authorisations

  • ·Uses not covered above may be authorised on a case-by-case basis, in writing.
  • ·Requests for licensing, co-authorship, institutional partnership or use in corporate training should be sent to suporte@microbiohub.com.br describing the intended use.

8. Infringement and remedies

  • ·Unauthorised use subjects the infringer to the civil and criminal penalties set out in arts. 101 to 110 of Law 9.610/1998 and art. 184 of the Brazilian Criminal Code, in addition to liability for damages.
  • ·Upon identifying an infringement, the owner may request removal of the content directly from the infringer, the hosting provider and the platforms, under the Internet Civil Rights Framework (Law 12.965/2014).
  • ·Reports of plagiarism or copying of this content can be sent to suporte@microbiohub.com.br.

9. User-submitted content

  • ·By sending suggestions, technical corrections or comments by email or through the contact form, you authorise the use and incorporation of these contributions into the site, on a non-exclusive and unpaid basis, while preserving the possibility of credit where applicable.
